"I am the only person in this room and probably in this Association who has raised, or has actively sought over the past 5 years to raise - even in the present circumstances - anything like these levels of funding for the Association."
Barrie Stuart-King: Resignation statement, 22.10.2005.

"He (Mr P Turner) concluded by offering his association's extreme thanks to Mr Stuart-King for all his hard work over the past three years."
Minute 90, AGM 19.3.2005.

".....he (Mr J Fielden) congratulated Mr Stuart-King for what he had achieved during his period of office as Chairman."
Minute 93, AGM 19.3.2005.

"It may surprise you to note that I actually agreed with Dave Burden bringing the financial issues to GC and was pleased that he succeeded where Chris had not. However I did not support his methods. History cannot be changed but lessons can be learnt and put into practice to secure a rosy future. At the meetings I attended with Dave in the chair he appeared prepared only to look back. I chatted to him on several occasions and repeatedly asked him to show leadership......"
Mrs Cathy Rawson: From the "Institute of Cricket Officials" website, February 2006.

Would this be the sort of thing you meant, Mrs Rawson?

Subject: Bartercard proposed sponsorship

Hi Dave, I would like to thank you for your effort and foresight in bringing this opportunity to us.

Just to update you on progress -- we have come a long way from our initial discussion last May where it was mooted that Bartercard may be interested in sponsoring the vast majority of UK umpires and scorers from village to the level under first class.

As you are aware I am a registered umpire myself and so, in light of the uncertainty surrounding the ACUandS, the discussion progressed to include the ECB where we have an association, as they are current Bartercard clients.

I have had further meetings and discussions with Frank Kemp from the ECB after your initial introduction; we have reached the point that we have agreed in principle for a deal for this year, with the possibility of an ongoing relationship -- the amount cannot be disclosed at this time, however suffice to say it will be a significant 5 to 6 figure sum over time.

I will continue to update you as it happens and again many thanks for your introductions and support.
